Montague Hoary Marmot (Marmota caligata ssp. sheldoni)

This subspecies of the Hoary Marmot (Marmota caligata (Eschscholtz)) (see photo below) is endemic to Montague Island in the Prince William Sound in Alaska.

This form, which in fact may not even be distinct from the nominate race, was not found during recent surveys and might be extinct; it is almost impossible to find any information.
