This species is or was endemic to some place in Peru, it hasn’t been found since its description (?), and is probably extinct.

Banara wilsonii Alain
Wilson’s Banara Tree (Banara wilsonii)
This species is known only from the type material which was collected sometimes prior 1938 (the date of its description) near the city of Puerto Padre in central Cuba.
The species is now most likely extinct.
